Marja Laitinen
Marja Laitinen, Senior Director in the European Government Affairs team at Microsoft, drives the company’s efforts to encourage responsible AI governance and innovation across Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Prior to her work on AI, Marja led the Microsoft Digital Crimes Unit (DCU) in EMEA and, before that, in Central and Eastern Europe. In these positions, she oversaw a team of legal and technical experts in the fight against cybercrime and online threats. Marja joined Microsoft in 2000 and prior to that, she worked as a lawyer at Susiluoto Attorneys-At-Law Ltd, a Finnish law firm specializing in intellectual property rights. Marja holds a law degree from the University of Helsinki and is based in Finland.
