Alena Schillerová

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Government of the Czech Republic (Czech Republic)
She graduated from the Faculty of Law of Masaryk University in Brno and worked in various positions in the Financial Administration from 1991 to 2015. She served as Director of the Brno-Venkov Tax Office and also as Director of the Legal and Tax Process Department of the General Financial Directorate. Among other things, she was a member of the Scientific Council of the Faculty of Business Administration of BUT and a member of the Working Committee for Financial Law of the Legislative Council of the Government. She also devoted herself to publishing and lecturing. She has been involved in finance her entire career. Since January 2016, she has served as Deputy Minister of Finance for Taxes and Customs, having previously held various positions in the Financial Administration for 25 years. In 2017, she was appointed Minister of Finance. She wants to simplify the tax system from non-system exemptions and improve the online tax office, i.e. the ability to submit tax returns conveniently via the Internet.
