Today, Startup Disrupt, a global platform for innovators, startup founders, corporate leaders, investors, and government representatives, announced another historic milestone in innovation and support for technology startups in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE). Startup Disrupt has joined the CERN Venture Connect program, recently launched by the European Laboratory for Particle Physics (CERN). This program connects a vast network of deep tech collaborators across CERN member states, including angel investors, venture capital firms, accelerators, and other key players within the broader deep tech startup ecosystem.
“The cooperation with CERN unlocks new possibilities for our startups, bringing the CEE region to the forefront of cutting-edge technologies and particle physics research. This initiative aligns with our vision to build a globally competitive innovation ecosystem while invigorating the business environment. The CERN Venture Connect program goes beyond basic research by facilitating the conversion of CERN’s unique expertise into tangible, innovative products. Startup Disrupt excels in this kind of technology transfer,” said Patrik Juranek, Founder of Startup Disrupt.
The CERN Venture Connect program aims to support startups using CERN technologies and know-how. “CERN Venture Connect is designed to empower the next generation of scientist entrepreneurs and shape the future with technology,” says Linn Kretzschmar, CERN Entrepreneurship Development Officer from the team within CERN’s Knowledge Transfer group. CERN Venture Connect will provide technical know-how, prototypes when applicable, and connections to the deep tech venture community.
With the newly established partnership with CERN, Startup Disrupt is set to bridge promising startups with investors and incubators, granting them expedited access to selected CERN technologies. This cooperation will enable startups in the CERN Venture Connect program to showcase their ideas and projects to industry experts, benefiting from CERN’s extensive know-how and technological resources.
Patrik Juranek, the founder of Startup Disrupt, emphasized the significance of this cooperation, stating, “Partnering with CERN represents a significant step forward for our community. By leveraging CERN’s unparalleled technological advancements, we are poised to elevate the capabilities and potential of our startups, ensuring that the CEE region remains at the forefront of global innovation.”
This landmark cooperation between Startup Disrupt and CERN marks a new era for technological advancement in the CEE region and reinforces the region’s position as a burgeoning hub for innovation and entrepreneurship on the global stage.
